    The League of Women Voters of New Jersey believes that democratic government depends upon informed and active participation at all levels of government. The League further believes that governmental bodies must protect the citizen's right to know by giving adequate notice of proposed actions, holding open meetings and making public records accessible.

    Voting Rights

    The League of Women Voters of New Jersey believes that voting is a fundamental citizen right that must be guaranteed. Please visit the voter protection section of this site to learn more about the League of Women Voters of New Jersey's work protecting voting rights.

    Campaign Finance

    The League of Women Voters of New Jersey supports an open and accountable system including contribution and expenditure disclosure and limitations. The League supports a system of public and private funding.

    Independent Commissions and Authorities

    The League of Women Voters of New Jersey supports accountability, openness, and coordination in planning between commissions and authorities and oversight by the executive branch.
